St. Johannis Lifestyle Estate

St. Johannis is undergoing a big transformation. The changes have already revealed a new name and a logo and a new website is in progress, which will be revealed soon. Even our Newsletter has a fresh face!

To change to a Lifestyle Estate with all features and facilities that come with it will take time and careful planning – a large project that will be implemented over the next couple of years. Current facilities on the premises will be upgraded and modernised, this includes the upgrading of Life Right units, the main building with our care and dining facilities as well as the overall landscaping. New features and facilities will be added over time to complete our new image.

But what will always remain the same? Our three C’s: Care, Comfort and Compassion, which is very important for us and a big reason why so many how chosen to be a part of the St. Johannis Family.  The spirit and the soul get as much attention as the body.

The Estate has and will continue to offer a unique volunteer programme. Volunteers from overseas are offered accommodation and may stay for up to three months. In turn, they assist in facilitating morning and afternoon activities for the residents ranging from art and craft to reading or board games, special events such as afternoon Tea Dances or movie afternoons; caring for the residents’ intellect and social lifestyle.  We always welcome local volunteers that are willing to host Bingo, or chat groups and aerobics; the church services are high on their priority list.

During the Covid-19, all this was unfortunately put on hold. During this time the nursing team tried to keep up the volunteers’ contribution and we thank them for their dedication. With the lockdown levels decreasing, regular activity offers will slowly be implemented again and hopefully, we can welcome volunteers from overseas again soon.

We are all very excited about the journey to build up the facilities and image of St Johannis to proudly represent our new name and lifestyle offering and hope all our residents, family members and friends of St. Johannis will become part of and this journey and embrace it with us!
